PICKLEBALL RULES
10 Must Know Rules for Pickleball
Pickleball uses an underhand serve.
Both the serve and the return of serve must bounce.
The first side to serve in doubles pickleball only has one service turn
(i.e., serve until the serving team loses a rally); then, each side has two service turns (i.e., each player serves until the serving team loses a rally).
Generally, only the serving team can score points, and the serving team switches sides of the court after each point won.
The server should call the score loudly before each serve.
No volleys are allowed while making contact with the non-volley zone (also known as the kitchen.
Shots on the lines of the pickleball court are allowed in the non-volley zone.
Shots on the lines of the pickleball court are "in, with one exception: the non-volley zone line on the serve is "out."
"Out' calls are made by the pickleball players on the side of the pickleball court where the pickleball bounces.
If the pickleball hits you (other than below your wrist, such as a finger), then you lose the rally.

- Open shoes of any kind
- Boots and other non-athletic shoes
Improper shoes will damage the courts and increase the risk of injury!

Lessons
Pickleball Lessons:
Lessons can be scheduled by calling Char Bar directly and speaking to a Pickleball associate. Lessons can be scheduled with Kramer, Josh, Aaron, Annie, Morgan or Malia
Non-Primetime Lessons 10 am-4 pm on Weekdays only.
Individual Lesson: $50
Duo Lesson: $75
Group (3-4 guests) Lesson: $125
Primetime Lessons: 4 pm-9 pm Weekdays, 10 am-9 pm Weekends
Individual: $65
Duo: $90
Group: $125
*All Lessons are done on Indoor courts to prevent any re-scheduling due to weather*
FAQs
What does Non-Primetime and Primetime Court Rental mean?
Non- Primetime court rentals are $20 per court to non-members, and Primetime courts are $40 per court. Members receive $5 off every court rental. All courts are Primetime Pricing on Saturday and Sunday from 10a-9p. Pricing varies during the week days based on time of day and Indoor vs Outdoor courts. Please call for any further clarification
What is Open Play?
What time does the restaurant open?
When purchasing a court rental online, what does “One Spot Left” “Class Size of 1” mean?
This simply means only 1 guest can purchase the court. That one guest is allowed to bring as many people with them to the court reservation after purchase.
Can you book more than one hour at a time online?
Not online, each court reservation is a single hour booking. The easiest way to book multiple hours or multiple courts is to call our Pickleball staff at 816-622-9600 ext. 5
How far in advance can I reserve a court?
We allow bookings two weeks in advance. If you have a large party/event you would like to schedule, please email
and we would be happy to work with you on scheduling that event!
Why does my invoice not show the date and time that I booked for?
That information can be found in the My Schedule tab on the website. Once you log-in with your username and password, you can double check all bookings made on the My Schedule tab.
